The Religious Studies and Theologies GIS of the Strasbourg Universities
In a general way, the purpose of a Scientific Interest Group or GIS ("Groupement d’intérêt scientifique") is to bring together research centers, individual researchers and professors who share a common scientific interest. More specifically, the Religious Studies and Theologies GIS of the Strasbourg Universities unites academics working in such fields as anthropology, ethnology, history, law, linguistics, literature, philology, philosophy, political science, sociology and theology whose primary or secondary field of research is religion, in order to develop the resources and capabilities of the Strasbourg institutions on a national and international level.

The field of collaboration covers all disciplines studying religions within the University of Strasbourg: anthropology; law; ethnology; history; linguistics; philology; philosophy; political sciences; sociology; theology; literature.

The website
The purpose of this website is to make available a wide range of information on teaching and research in the fields of religious studies and theology in Strasbourg. Particular emphasis is given to current reseach projects, seminars, documentary resources and publications.
The website was created and is maintained by Anne-Laure Zwilling (PRISME - Société, Droit et Religion en Europe). It was set up by Matthieu Legrand and Stéphane Streng (IUT Informatique Strasbourg).
